The Yacht Club Capri was established in 1999 with the intent of promoting and furthering nautical and sailing sporting activities on the wonderful island where we are based.
One of our primary objectives is to draw the local population closer to sailing.
Given the goal, in 2001 the Club opened a Sailing Academy for children and adults: furthermore as of 2008r thanks
to the support of the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) we will start collaborating with local schools drawing more
and more youngsters closer to this fascinating sport.
The headquarters of the Club are in the heart of the Marina Grande in Capri and the building is well recognizable
to all boats mooring in the harbor.
The Yacht Club is undergoing major renovations and not only from an architectural point of view.
Thanks to the leadership of our President Massimo Massaccesi, to the cooperation of the Executive Committee and the
120 members, the Yacht Club Capri has organized some of the most important national and international sailing events
in a very short period of time.
• The Capri – Montecarlo Speedboat Trophy
• The Italian Audi-Mumm 30 Circuit
• The Capri to Portino Regatta
• The traditional Tyrrhenian Sea National Championship “Nastro Azzurro Sailing Week”
• The FARR40 Trophy
• The “Three Gulf Sailing Week”, a classic
“Barche e Barchette” dedicated to classic Riva motor-yachts and vintage cars.
Entirely organized by the Yacht Club Capri. First edition in May 2002.
• The first leg of the FARR40 2003 Trophy
• La prima tappa del Trofeo FARR 40 2003
• IMS Rolex Cup 2003 and 2004 World Championship
• The Capri to Porto Cervo Regatta, organized entirely by the Yacht Club Capri and valid for
the Captain Cup 2003 Gentlemen Race.
• Riva & Bugatti – a motor-yacht and vintage car.
Entirely organized by the Yacht Club Capri.
First edition in May 2002.
• IMS Rolex Cup World Championship, which took place on the island for the first time
in 2002 and continued for additional three years.
• The world re-known Rolex Capri Sailing Week Trophy.
The cream of the cream in international sailing events that takes place on the island as of 2005 bringing together
the world’s top boats and athletes.
The Yacht Club Capri is currently the object of a great amount of interest an behalf of many national
and international sport institutions.
Many contacts are currently underway to organize high profile events over the next years.
